Outside My Window… It is dark. Again.
I am thinking… About the unhappy turn of events with my daughter’s job today. We suspected it was coming. The hours were sporadic and getting worse. We had 8 long months of unemployment after we moved here, and now it begins again. I pray it doesn’t last long.
I am thankful… that I have a roof over my head and all my utilities are turned on. God always provides.
I am remembering… A visit to the library with my mother when I was a young girl. She helped me pick out a bunch of books she liked when she was younger, and we got a case of the giggles amid the stacks. We laughed so hard, I thought I’d throw up — but I didn’t. Came home with my first real “grown up” books. It was a great time.
I am hearing… silence. The movie we’re watching is paused. The dog is asleep. My daughter is out of the room. I am alone.
I am going… to put work aside for the rest of the night. I’m weary.
I am hoping… that one of the interviews my daughter is going on this week will turn into a new job for her.
On my mind… Laundry waiting for me to put it into the dryer. I’m thinking it can wait until morning.
From the learning rooms… researching Mardi Gras for my current work-in-progress.
From the kitchen… a casserole we’ve called “Aunt Dena’s Casserole” since I was a young girl. Obviously, Aunt Dena’s recipe 🙂 Green beans and mashed potatoes to make it stretch.
One of my favorite things… reading a book on a bench by the beach
Pondering these words…To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up. Ecclesiastes 3: 1-3
A few plans for the rest of this week… work. Always work. The last week of Crown Financial class. Finishing the baby afghan I’m crocheting for a friend.
From my picture journal…
