The Simple Woman’s Daybook for Friday, October 18

FOR TODAY

Outside my window…the sun is coming up. Parts of my yard are still bathed in shadow, but the sky is clear and blue and it looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day.

I am thinking…that I wish I were a better friend. That I want to get outside of my own head and think about others more.

I am thankful…for the wonderful visit I just had with my daughter and son-in-law and granddaughters. It was amazing!

In the kitchen…all is quiet

I am wearing…pajamas. It’s one of the truly great things about my job. I work from home wearing whatever I feel like wearing at the moment.

I am creating…nothing right now, but I did create some Halloween crafts on Tuesday night!

I am going…to put my nose to the grindstone today and revise at least three chapters.

I am wondering…whether I’ll be able to attend a get-together with some old friends in a couple of weeks.

I am reading…”Affairs of Steak” by Julie Hyzy.

I am hoping…that I can get back to Utah soon to see my mother.

I am looking forward to…that get-together in early November.

I am learning, to let go and let God.

Around the house…there’s way too much work waiting for me, but I am determined to soldier on and get to the other side of it.

I am pondering…the direction of my career. Do I take that risk or play it safe. I already know the answer, but I’m still pondering how to make the jump.

A favorite quote for today…”Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back everything is different?”~C.S. Lewis

One of my favorite things…lotion.  I’d almost forgotten how much I like it.

A few plans for the rest of the week:: Work, work, and more work (and by work, I mean playing at writing because when I think of it as work I don’t want to do it.) I tend to be reclusive and am trying to work on that, but I may actually get out and about on Saturday and go to the corn maze and hayride with a church group.

A peek into my day…I find that I’m much more productive when I begin my day with morning pages (ala “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron) and  then time alone with God. A little housework, some time reading, hopefully a short walk with the dog. Writing (or revising) so I can get the first book I ever wrote finally republished in Kindle format. Maybe some time plotting my next book, the one that’s due in April. Wait! Is it April? Or June? Note to self: double-check the due date. Oh! And sign up for NaNoWriMo.
